Get to Know Nordic Motors in Redwood City

Carl Jardevall has owned Nordic Motors since 1995. A native of Sweden, he was born in Trollhattan (the City of Trolls), which also happens to be the town where Saab cars were built. Carl began his automotive career in vocational school, and was a mechanic for military vehicles during his time in the Swedish army. In 1977, he went to work for the local Saab dealer, where he stayed until 1985. During this period, Carl also pursued his love of motorsports, particularly performance (or special stage) rallying.

Carl moved to the United States in 1985, and for several years, he worked in various auto repair facilities around the Los Angeles area. In 1994, he was offered the opportunity to relocate to San Carlos. He accepted the offer, and a year later he purchased Nordic Motors.

At Nordic Motors, we leverage decades of Swedish car repair experience with up-to-date training in every make we service. Our Redwood City area mechanics are all certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.

Nordic Motors Auto Repair

We’ve Grown to Better Serve You & Your Car!

By 2004, business at 1700 El Camino in San Carlos had grown so much that we were in dire need of more work space, so we decided to lease a second location close by. This expansion doubled our size, but was not a permanent cure for our growing pains.

Finally, in the spring of 2012, we found the perfect home for Nordic Motors in Redwood City. Our location at 65 Winslow is nearly five times the size of our original auto repair shop. Parking is now convenient and abundant, and traffic congestion is no longer a problem for our customers. Come see for yourself!

Talking to Tomorrow’s Auto Techs Today

Nordic Motors mechanic, Mike Davis, was invited to Carlmont High School’s Career Day to talk to students about Auto Mechanics as a profession. Mike explained that working on modern cars is more about computers and less about turning wrenches. He emphasized that knowledge of computers and electronics is necessary now, and will be even more important in the future. Over 100 Carlmont students attended Mike’s seminars.
